HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BABY IS CONSTIPATED?

baby constipated question mark

Your child may be constipated if they have some of the following:

  • They do not poo at least three times a week
  • Hard and ‘pebble-like’ poo
  • Pain or crying when having a poo
  • Tummy pain, especially if it is relieved by having a poo
  • Loss of appetite
  • Lack of energy
  • Being irritable, angry or unhappy
  • Generally feeling unwell
  • Overflow soiling – if your child is already potty trained, soiled pants can be another sign of constipation, as runny poo (diarrhoea) may leak out around the hard, constipated poo
